What are cookies?
They are small files that are stored on your computer when you visit a website. Cookies allow websites, such as if you return to a website, to recognise your browser. Cookies can also store preferences and other information.
Cookies help you save time, or tell the website you have returned to a specific page. For example, if you personalise pages on our website, a cookie helps the systems we use (HubSpot Growth Stack and Google Analytics) to recall your specific information on future visits. When you return to our website, the information you previously provided can be retrieved, so you have easy access to your customised features.
Cookies that we set are called "first party cookies". Cookies set by parties other than ourselves are called "third party cookies". Third party cookies enable third party features or functionality to be provided on or through our website (e.g. such as interactive content and analytics). The parties that set these third party cookies can recognise your computer both when it visits the website in question and also when it visits certain other websites.
We use first party and third party cookies for a number of different reasons. Some are required for technical reasons so that our website can operate or comply with laws and your preferences, such as not being shown Lead flow pop ups or restricting the use of tracking cookies, and we call these "essential" or "necessary" cookies. Other cookies enable us to track and target the interests and preferences of our website visitors to help improve their experience on our website. For example, by using the HubSpot Growth Stack, we can track the pages you visit on our website, in order to determine what portion of our website is the most popular or most used. We use this data to provide customised content and promotions within our website to visitors whose behaviour indicates that they are interested in a particular topic or area. Third parties serve cookies through our website are for analytics and other purposes. This is described in more detail below.
The types of cookies we use
First let's explain the different types of cookies:
These are necessary to provide you with services available through our website and to use some of its features. Because these cookies are necessary to deliver our website to you, you cannot refuse them. However, you can block or delete them by changing your browser settings, please refer to the relevant user manual on how to do this on your computer.
Performance and functionality cookies:
These are used to enhance the performance and functionality of our website and are not essential to their use. Without these cookies, certain functionality might not be available.
Analytics and customisation cookies:
These collect information that is used either in aggregate form to help us understand how our website is being used or how effective our marketing campaigns are, or to help us customise our website for you.
Social networking cookies:
These enable you to share pages and content that you find interesting on our website through third party social networking and other websites. These cookies may also be used for advertising purposes; however, we do not include third party advertising on our website unless it is directly posted by ourselves.
Now, lets explain more about the systems we use that may store cookies
We use the HubSpot Growth Stack for our CRM, sales, marketing, and website. This suite of products allows us to see what companies are viewing our website (how many times, what pages, and for how long) based on their IP addresses and then once Personal Information is provided we can this on a person by person level. Here you can find the latest information on what cookies HubSpot sets in your browser.
We also use Google Analytics to gather anonymous data to help maintain, monitor, and improve our website. Here you can find the latest information on what cookies Google Analytics sets in your browser.
How you can control cookies from our website
If it's the first time you visit our website or you haven't given us your preference yet, we always display the HubSpot Cookie Consent Banner so you have the choice to accept or decline cookies.
You can also control how your computer uses and stores cookies by going into your own browser and computer settings. You should check your browser and computer user manual for details on how to edit these cookie settings.
The other tracking technologies we use
We use software technology called clear gifs, also referred to as web beacons. This helps us better manage our website by telling us what content is the most effective. These 'clear gifs' are tiny graphics with a unique identifier, function in a similar way to cookies, and are used to track the online movements of web users. While cookies are stored on a user's computer hard drive, clear gifs are embedded invisibly on web pages or in emails and are about the size of a full stop (such as just after this next bracket). We use clear gifs or pixels in our HTML-based emails to let us know which emails have been opened. This means we can gauge if our communication is effective. Using the HubSpot Growth Stack allows us to tie the information gathered by clear gifs in emails to our customers' Personal Information.
Your privacy is of the utmost importance so we will respond quickly to all requests.
Requesting a copy of your Personal Information
Just contact us here by email, using the email address of the contact details that you want us to provide, so we have proof you are the owner of that email and because we use 'email' as the unique identifier. We'll email you a CSV of your Personal Information directly from our HubSpot CRM as this is the central place we store all Personal Information.
Modifying your Personal Information
Just contact us here by email, using the email address of the contact that you want us to modify, so we have proof you are the owner of that email and because we use 'email' as the unique identifier. We'll update your Personal Information directly in our HubSpot CRM as this is the central place we store all Personal Information.
Deleting your Personal Information
Just contact us here by email, using the email address of the contact that you want us to delete, so we have proof you are the owner of that email and because we use 'email' as the unique identifier. We'll use the HubSpot CRM 'hard' delete option that deletes the contact and all its associated content to follow privacy laws and regulations. We'll also do a manual delete from our other cloud systems such as Google Contacts.
Other data protection rights
You can object to us storing and processing your Personal Information, and ask us to restrict or allow you to port your Personal Information.
If we have collected and processed your Personal Information with your consent, you can withdraw your consent at any time. Withdrawing your consent will not affect the lawfulness of processing we conducted prior to your withdrawal. Also, it will not affect processing of your Personal Information using lawful processing grounds other than consent.
You have the right to contact your local data protection authority to complain about our collection and use of your Personal Information. Various contact details can be found here.
Anti spam policy
We like to keep this simple because we simply don't 'spam'. We take time before we approach a new contact and we always do so in an ethical way using the correct Legal basis for processing contact's data and a Legal basis for communicating such a consent to legitimate interest.
We keep our activity helpful and targeted. After conducting thorough research to see if you fit our Ideal customer profile, we might contact you for the first time with a one-to-one sales email or call because we feel there is a legitimate interest and we feel we can genuinely help you. If this is the case, we'll let you know why we're contacting you, what public source your details came from, how we can help you, and explain that you can always opt-out or request a copy or your Personal Information or have it modified or deleted.
To Unsubscribe From Our Communications
If we send you a one-to-one sales email from inside our HubSpot CRM or an email marketing email from HubSpot Marketing, you'll always have links in the footer to unsubscribe or update your preferences.
If you get an email from us that doesn't include those footer links, such as a one-to-one sales email we've sent from Gmail or from a mobile device, just reply to us with your request or alternatively, find one of our previous emails that does have the footer links and unsubscribe or update your preferences from there. We keep things simple because we use HubSpot for all our sales and marketing activity and this means you always have a central place to manage your preferences.
